Don't know why these didn't post......but here are some more views of the work we have done. The area beyween the new garden and shop looking at the entrance to patio. The next is the patio with table and chairs. We enjoy eating out there often. The grill is behind Deb towards the garage. Next picture shows what used to be the 1940's garage when the house was built. We took down the roof and wall to six feet. I added a footing and reused some of the brick to enclose the old garage door opening. The door to Deb's "garden room" is a recycled barn door. The last picture is a view from inside the room showing the rain water barrels which provides for a lot of the watering needs.

Looking towards the shop (which used to be a slab of concrete which we parked on.) The
house origanally had the garage doors in the rear so this area was driveway. After much
pickax work and using the rototiller, we are able to have a garden again.
This is what started the project..........a neighbor's "gift" of thirty strawberry shoots
needing planting last fall. Of coarse that gave Deb time during the winter to design.
The "Double Knockout" roses which are virtually maintenance free and bloom all year.

Even though we are inconvenienced with a snow storm, it is truely amazing to see
God's handiwork in nature and the beauty that exists. Last night I managed to slide
the truck off the driveway into the grass area were all the water has been standing.
Needless to say, the truck sunk to the frame and today had to have a wrecker wench
it out. But this afternoon I was looking around the yard to see this view of the cardinals. I grumbled this morning that I had to once again fill feeders, but it sure is worth the effort when we are blessed with this beauty. Can't help but remember our Lord saying that even the birds of the fields are not as precious as we are to our Heavenly Father. Enjoy your day and your loved ones.
